Delhi University’s Kalindi College helps transgender people speak up

How is gender taught in schools and colleges? Are there enough discussions about queer and trans people? Are people sensitive enough to break through the existing binaries? In a classroom, to what extent are diverse voices given an agency? These and many more questions were a part of a webinar organized by the transgender cell set up by Delhi University’s (DU) Kalindi College.

The effort was undertaken to bring forth discussions on sexuality, discourses on gender identity, and intersectionality. Zayan, an educator by profession, who identifies as a trans-man, shared his experiences around the theme “Transgender person’s experience in the education sector”.
